how to configure grid adjust color and width of line, size of boxes-

need to divide a scanned hard copy artwork, to edit and then print out @ the local copyshop-
how can I configure grid , using tiny pc in hope of change ...  get sections done in order and not be confused
just need width hieght- and color of line really- and if you're feeling fancy
like a mosaic generator, puzzlle maker plug'n- even turn to diamondize image division?
