Color Balance can be used to either correct or introduce colorcasts based on the brightness of various parts of an image. In particular, it can be used to ensure that specific colors – particularly neutral colors – are rendered correctly, and can therefore be used for color correction. It can also be used to deliberately offset the white balance towards warmer tints, cooler tints or specific hues for creative effect. The user interface follows the usual convention of setting shadows, midtones and highlights separately; the colors adjusted by the sliders are determined by this selection.
